Under-screen front camera phone
It is understood that manufacturers have already figured out a 1.5K resolution full-screen high-definition front camera solution. According to previous news, this solution is likely to be adopted by ZTE manufacturers, and flagship products such as the Red Magic 10 series gaming phones and Nubia Z70 Ultra may all use related technologies. Fans of true full-screen phones can pay attention to it.
However, some manufacturers are more aggressive and are working on a 2K resolution under-screen front camera solution. The whistleblower has seen a DEMO of a full-depth four-curved + dual-hole front camera from a certain screen manufacturer, with an ultrasonic fingerprint area. Some netizens speculated that the relevant model may be Xiaomi MIX 5.
The under-screen front camera technology is generally considered to be the best solution for true full-screen mobile phones, but it has disadvantages such as poor selfie effects. Currently, few manufacturers on the market use this technology. Samsung and ZTE are the few staunch supporters. Among them, Samsung’s under-screen front camera mainly appears on folding screen mobile phones, and the pixels are relatively low. ZTE’s under-screen front camera technology has been iterated to the fifth generation and has gained a certain degree of recognition.
At present, without considering foldable screen mobile phones, the Xiaomi MIX series has been discontinued for three years. According to information obtained by CNMO, Xiaomi MIX 5 is indeed in preparation, but it is still in the early stages and is unlikely to be released in 2024.
