On September 2, the Mobile Smart Terminal Ecological Alliance issued an announcement stating that in order to better improve the compatibility of Android applications and ensure that applications in the app store can provide users with safer, more efficient and high-quality services, the Gold Label Alliance members OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi have decided to remove applications that only support 32-bit from the app store starting today (September 2).

According to the information, in 2021, ecological software and hardware companies such as Baidu, OPPO, Tencent, vivo, and Xiaomi jointly initiated the establishment of the Mobile Intelligent Terminal Ecological Alliance (Intelligent Terminal Alliance, referred to as the “Golden Label Alliance”).

According to reports, the alliance’s mission is to focus on gathering the forces of all parties in the industrial ecosystem, jointly carry out research on the technical standards ecosystem of smart terminal software, jointly explore new technologies, new models and new mechanisms for software under the alliance’s technical standards ecosystem, promote technology, industry and application research and development, carry out pilot demonstrations, carry out extensive industrial cooperation, and form a service platform for the technical standards ecosystem of smart terminal software.

On this basis, the Gold Label Alliance will also establish a Gold Label certification service, aiming to select applications that have reached industry-leading levels in terms of compatibility, stability, security, privacy, performance, power consumption, etc. Applications that have obtained the Gold Label Alliance certification will be given priority recommendations in the OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi app stores, thereby improving the quality of application services and enhancing user trust and recognition.
