On September 12, CNMO learned from foreign media that Apple has quietly advanced the development of iOS 18.2. The update is expected to be officially launched in December this year and will bring a series of new features, especially in the expansion of Apple Intelligence, innovative application tools, and deep integration of ChatGPT and Siri.
It is reported that iOS 18.2 will introduce many features of Apple Intelligence, such as text proofreading, notification summaries, message suggested replies, call recording and transcription, and photo cleanup tools, to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom for the first time. Previously, these features have been previewed on the iPhone 15 Pro series and the upcoming iPhone 16 series in the United States through iOS 18.1.
In addition, the highly anticipated ChatGPT will debut in iOS 18.2 through Siri before the end of the year. Users will be able to ask ChatGPT questions directly through Siri and get instant answers. ChatGPT will also be part of Apple’s system-level writing tools to help users generate text and images. In addition, the integration of ChatGPT will support OpenAI’s latest GPT-4o model to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the answers.
In iOS 18.2, Apple will also bring new hearing protection, hearing test, and hearing aid features to AirPods Pro 2 users. These features are designed to enhance the user’s hearing health experience and will be launched in multiple countries and regions around the world as part of the update.
iOS 18.2 also plans to add more practical features, such as transaction, update and promotion category classification in the Mail app, and support for vacuum cleaner robots in the Home app.
