Foreign media: The iPhone 16 series is indeed attractive, but it is not perfect

Foreign media reports on the iPhone 16 series are often full of expectations and attention. When a new generation of products is released, they tend to emphasize its eye-catching new features, technological innovations, and design upgrades. However, in addition to praising, foreign media also tend to maintain an objective attitude, pointing out that even such a highly anticipated iPhone 16 series is not perfect.

Foreign media said that first of all, the screen refresh rate of iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is still at 60Hz, which has failed to keep up with the industry trend. Since the introduction of ProMotion technology on iPad Pro in 2017, Apple has only equipped the Pro series iPhone with a 120Hz ProMotion screen, while the standard version has always used 60Hz. Nowadays, many mid-to-low-priced Android phones are already equipped with 90Hz or 120Hz high refresh rate screens as standard. Apple still insists on using a 60Hz screen on the standard version of the iPhone, which costs as much as $799. This practice seems a bit outdated.

Secondly, the iPhone 16 Pro is a bit conservative in camera upgrades. Despite the introduction of a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, the number of pixels of the telephoto lens has not been increased. In contrast, competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro are equipped with high-pixel telephoto lenses and provide higher digital zoom multiples. Apple’s stagnation in telephoto lenses has disappointed many photography enthusiasts.

In addition, the color selection of the iPhone 16 Pro has also been criticized. Compared with the standard version of the iPhone 16, the color of the Pro version seems too dull and lacks novelty. Consumers have called on Apple to add more interesting colors to the Pro series to meet the personalized needs of different users.

Finally, Apple has not yet introduced the Touch ID feature on the iPhone. Although the iPad series (except iPad Pro) has generally adopted the dual biometric technology of Touch ID and Face ID, iPhone users can only rely on Face ID for unlocking and payment. Many users expect Apple to add the Touch ID feature to future iPhones to improve the convenience of use.
