Domestic manufacturers occupy the top three in the Asia-Pacific smartphone market, surpassing Apple and Samsung

According to CNMO, the latest data released by the research institute TechInsights shows that domestic mobile phone manufacturers occupy the top three in the Asia-Pacific smartphone market, and Apple and Samsung also enter the top five. In addition, the potential of domestic mobile phone manufacturers such as Huawei is also worthy of attention.

According to TechInsights, the smartphone market in Asia Pacific grew 8% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, consistent with the growth rate of the global smartphone market during the same period.

In terms of the performance of various mobile phone manufacturers, vivo has become the leader in the Asia-Pacific region with a market share of 16%, an increase of 20% year-on-year. OPPO Group (including OPPO, OnePlus and Realme) and Xiaomi followed closely, each occupying 15% of the market share, among which Xiaomi increased by 32% year-on-year. In addition, Apple and Samsung firmly sat in the rest of the top five. TechInsights said that among the well-known brands, Motorola, Google and Huawei stood out as the fastest growing suppliers, all of which achieved year-on-year growth of more than 50%, among which Motorola achieved triple-digit annual growth.
