According to the latest reports from foreign media, Samsung is working intensively on the development of smartphones that will be launched next year. In addition to the highly anticipated S25 series, Samsung is also expected to release the A36 and A56 early next year.
Currently, Samsung A56 has appeared in the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) database. The model number of the new phone (SM-A566B/DS) has been revealed through the IMEI database. From its model, it can be inferred that this phone supports 5G connection and is equipped with dual SIM card slots.
Samsung A56 will be equipped with Exynos 1580 chip (model: s5e8855), which was exposed two months ago. This chip will bring significant performance improvement to A56 because it uses ARM’s latest CPU core and AMD GPU. It is speculated that this is a chip using 4nm or 5nm process, containing four Cortex-A720 CPU cores (one of which is clocked at up to 2.91GHz and the other three are clocked at 2.6GHz) and four Cortex-A520 CPU cores (clocked at 1.95GHz).
In contrast, the Exynos 1480 chip used in the Samsung A55 is equipped with four older Cortex-A78 CPU cores and four Cortex-A55 CPU cores. The A56 is expected to be equipped with a new generation of Xclipse GPU based on AMD’s RDNA2 architecture.
Thanks to the new CPU and GPU, the performance of Samsung A56 will be greatly improved. According to the running score data of Geekbench (5.5.1), the performance of Exynos 1580 is comparable to that of Snapdragon 888.
The Samsung A55 already has a glass front and back cover and metal frame design, as well as stereo speakers, IP67 dust and water resistance, and under-screen fingerprint recognition. Therefore, it is foreseeable that the A56 will also inherit these advantages.
