Huawei to raise Mate XT tri-fold shipment forecast to one million units

On September 19, CNMO noted that foreign media reported that Huawei is expected to significantly increase the shipment forecast of the Mate XT tri-fold screen mobile phone, revising the original plan of 500,000 units to 1 million units. The new phone was officially released on September 10, and so far, more than 6.5 million reservations have been received during the pre-sale period.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said it is still difficult to determine whether the Mate XT can maintain its sales momentum and future market demand. Kuo also pointed out that the foldable smartphone market may shrink from the expected 30 million units to 15 million units this year. This forecast is based on the immaturity of the current foldable phone software experience, especially the optimization for larger screens still needs to be improved. In addition, the profit margin of foldable devices is also a major challenge for brand manufacturers, which may affect their enthusiasm for market promotion.

Foreign media said that Huawei Mate XT has attracted a lot of attention with its unique tri-fold design and 10-inch foldable display. The device can be held in one hand like a smartphone, or unfolded into a tablet form. Huawei has also added several new camera features to the Mate XT and optimized the HarmonyOS system to better adapt to these screens. Despite the high price, consumers have shown great enthusiasm for this launch.
