This news is quite unexpected, because the industry generally expected Samsung to launch its own Exynos 2500 processor to drive the Galaxy S25 series. Looking back, the Galaxy S24 series used the Exynos 2400 processor in most markets, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra was equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3.
However, this time Samsung seems to have decided to switch to Snapdragon in order to improve overall performance by adopting the highest performance components and respond to consumers’ concerns about the performance of the Exynos version. It is rumored that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will achieve a significant improvement of about 30% in AI and GPU performance.

Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that the price of Snapdragon 8 Gen4 is expected to increase by 25% to 30%.
Specifically, the price of Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is about $190 to $200, while Kuo predicts that the price of Snapdragon 8 Gen4 may fall between $237 and $260. This means that the overall cost of the Galaxy S25 series will increase, which may lead to an increase in retail prices. For consumers, while enjoying higher performance, they also need to pay more for this upgrade.
