It is worth noting that on April 18 this year, China FAW announced that it would cooperate with Ecarx Technology, also a subsidiary of Geely, to jointly develop high-end smartphones under the Hongqi brand. The selection of Xingji Meizu is expected to lead the design and production of Hongqi’s first mobile phone.
The pictures of the Hongqi phone circulating on the Internet show that its appearance design draws on the style of the Meizu 21 PRO, but it is hard to say whether the configuration will be the same. It is understood that the Meizu 21 PRO uses a 6.79-inch 2K+ ultra-clear screen, supports 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming; is equipped with the third-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship chip, up to 16GB+1TB storage combination; has a built-in 5050mAh battery, supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
What is certain is that FAW’s original intention of creating the Hongqi brand mobile phone is similar to that of Geely and Weilai. It is not to make money by selling mobile phones, but to make the in-car smart ecosystem more complete. In simple terms, they are all to make the mobile phones and cars of their respective brands interconnected.
