In recent years, Apple has accelerated its production layout in India, which not only allows it to gain a more secure position in the global supply chain, but also helps to diversify production risks. Against the backdrop of a complex global supply chain, Apple has been able to further expand its production capacity in India by relying on policy support and economic incentives provided by the Indian government.

The Indian government has previously taken a number of measures to attract global manufacturers and provide them with a favorable investment environment. Earlier this year, the Indian government announced that it would reduce the import tax on components needed for mobile phone production from 15% to 10% to encourage more companies to set up factories in India. According to reports, Apple plans to produce more than 50 million iPhones in India each year, further consolidating its leading position in the global market. This not only highlights India’s important position in the global technology manufacturing industry, but also lays the foundation for India to become a global smartphone production center.

However, the yield rate of iPhones made in India has been questioned by many people. Some media reported that the yield rate of Indian factories is about 10% lower than that of China and Vietnam, but this is still within Apple’s acceptable range. Taking the 98% yield rate of Apple phones in Zhengzhou Foxconn as a reference, it can be inferred that the yield rate of iPhones made in India is at least 85%. There were rumors that the yield rate of iPhones made in India was only 50%, but this actually refers to the yield rate of mobile phone shells in factories under the Indian Tata Group, not the yield rate of the entire machine. The chairman of Foxconn has clarified this.
