Qualcomm is reported to release three chips in the second half of the year, targeting entry-level and mid-range markets

In the fierce competition in the mobile chip market, Qualcomm continues to lead the industry with its leading technology and innovation capabilities. Recently, it was reported that Qualcomm is actively developing three new processors to meet the needs of the rapidly growing mid-range smartphone market.

Qualcomm is reported to release three chips in the second half of the year, targeting entry-level and mid-range markets

It is understood that the three chips are codenamed: SM4635, SM6650 and SM7635. According to Qualcomm’s naming convention, these three processors are expected to be classified into the existing Snapdragon 4, 6 and 7 series respectively. Although the official details about these processors are still limited, some leaks and rumors have given us some clues about potential specifications and integration of upcoming devices.

First up is the SM4635, also known as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 3. Early rumors indicate that this processor will support up to 6GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This memory and storage combination will provide users with a significant performance boost compared to the previous generation. This will allow users to have a smoother and more efficient experience in daily use, as well as a smoother gaming experience in less demanding games.

Next up is the SM6650, which belongs to the Snapdragon 6 series. Although details about this processor are still scarce, given its position in the Snapdragon 6 series, we can speculate that it will target the performance sweet spot of the mid-range market. It will balance power efficiency and improved processing power to meet the needs of users in daily use, photography, and moderate gaming.

Finally, there is the SM7635, the new member of the Snapdragon 7 series. This processor has attracted a lot of attention recently because it will serve as the first processor of the Redmi Note 14 Pro. It is speculated that the SM7635 may be lower than the recently announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in terms of raw performance. However, this does not mean that it has no highlights. It is worth noting that official benchmarks have not yet been released, so we cannot deny the potential of the SM7635 in the Snapdragon 7 series based on speculation alone. In fact, given its positioning in the 7 series, the SM7635 is still expected to provide greater improvements than its predecessor in terms of performance, power consumption, and efficiency.

In summary, the launch of Qualcomm’s three new processors will undoubtedly further consolidate its leading position in the mobile chip market. These processors will not only meet users’ demand for powerful and reasonably priced devices, but will also play an important role in promoting the development of the mid-range smartphone market. With the release and application of these new processors, we have reason to believe that the future smartphone market will be more diversified and more competitive, and users will enjoy better performance and usage experience.
