According to CNMO, Sony is developing a single-camera high-end mobile phone using Zeiss T lens, which may be the next generation Xperia Pro.
Speaking of Sony’s next flagship model, it is likely to be the Xperia 1 VII next year. However, according to Japanese media reports, Sony may have another mysterious high-end model. A Reddit user posted a German-language revelation, which roughly means: Sony seems to be releasing an Xperia single-camera phone with a Zeiss T lens. The level and specifications of the phone are unknown, but the size is roughly the same as the Xperia 1 series, so it is definitely not “compact”.
Sony Xperia’s latest single-camera phone is the Xperia Ace III, and Sony hasn’t launched a single-camera high-end model since the Xperia XZ3. On the other hand, all Sony Xperia phones that have used Zeiss lenses so far have been high-end models, so the new phone exposed by netizens seems unlikely to be a mid-range or low-end model.
The rest of the phone’s specifications are unknown, but since it’s a high-end model and has a single lens, it’s expected to come with a fairly large lens and sensor size.
Back to Sony’s mainstream flagship product line, it is hard for us to imagine that the next-generation flagship tentatively named “Xperia 1 VII” will suddenly have a single rear camera design. Therefore, on the whole, this mysterious high-end model may be a new generation of Xperia Pro, or a completely different new series of models.
