Samsung Z Fold special edition will be equipped with 200MP lens and is expected to be released in October

It is reported that the thinner version of Galaxy Z Fold6 will be called Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. This upcoming limited edition foldable phone is expected to have a larger screen, a thinner body and a better camera. According to foreign media reports, Ross Young, an industry insider at Display Supply Chain Consultants, revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be equipped with a 200MP main camera.

He also noted that the phone uses Ultra Folding Glass (UFC) rather than Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) to cover the foldable OLED screen. This type of glass has an uneven thickness, being thinner near the foldable portion and thicker in other areas, which is said to improve scratch resistance and durability.

Ross Young also mentioned that most of the sales of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be concentrated in the Chinese market, and the rest will be sold in South Korea. Samsung’s upcoming flagship foldable phone will not be launched in other countries and regions.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will reportedly feature a 6.5-inch cover screen, an 8-inch inner foldable screen, and a 200MP main rear camera. Previous reports also claimed that the phone will feature a 10MP selfie camera on the inner screen, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP under-screen camera.

The phone is expected to be released in October 2024 and will be equipped with Android 14 system.
