Xiaomi’s first buttonless phone appears in the MIX series, codenamed “wangshu”

Recently, it was revealed that Xiaomi is developing a buttonless smartphone, codenamed “zhuque”, which is considered to be Xiaomi’s first attempt at a buttonless smartphone. However, recently, CNMO noticed that about a year and a half ago, Xiaomi actually had a buttonless smartphone codenamed “wangshu”.

Judging from the leaked pictures, the “wangshu” body does not have any physical buttons, but still provides a USB-C interface and a SIM card slot. The front of the “wangshu” is equipped with a hyperbolic OLED screen and uses under-screen camera technology, which is a true full-screen design.

In terms of configuration, “wangshu” is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, equipped with a 2K 120Hz OLED screen, built-in 4500mAh large-capacity battery, and supports up to 200W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The inscription on the top of the phone and the code of Xiaomi MIUI/Pengpai OS indicate that “wangshu” is a product of Xiaomi MIX series, but due to various reasons, “wangshu” was not mass-produced and released. Until now, news about “zhuque” has leaked from Xiaomi, and many of its design concepts seem to be closely related to “wangshu”.

It is worth noting that in recent months, there have been more and more reports about the new Xiaomi MIX phone. A reliable source revealed that the new Xiaomi MIX phone may be released in 2025 and may use 2K under-screen technology.
